About the Studio
We are primarily focused on offering a holistic approach to yoga for everybody in the Bakersfield community. Our founder opened The Haven as a place where all are welcomed, regardless of fitness level or background, who have a desire to explore and deepen their personal yoga practice in a comfortable inclusive space- a haven. She has traveled the world doing yoga and wanted to bring the world inside for those unable to do the same. Thus, we have an atmosphere that allows you to travel feel carried away while remaining present on your mat. The earthy grounded and welcoming space is truly unique and an incredible way to experience the practice.
The foundation of our practice combines this immersive experience along with a full list of quality classes for an inner emotional and spiritual journey. By integrating this experience with yoga fundamentals -mind, body, breath, movement, and meditation, we strive to promote an understanding of the interdependency of all these aspects in your personal health and wellbeing. A modern sensory approach rooted deeply in yogic tradition.
The studio is designed with a low-carbon footprint and natural holistic concept. We only use organic cleaning supplies, low toxic recycled flooring, and eco-friendly sustainable mats & blocks. We are committed to low toxic and sustainable living and offer our members a vast variety of retail options to create a healthy low toxic lifestyle. Our schedule is designed with you in mind offering classes in the early am, mid-morning and evening to fit your busy life. We also want to make sure there is a class for everyone, and everyone is welcome. Inclusivity is our goal and whether this is your 1st class or your 100th class, there is a place for you at The Haven.
We have two studios Body Balance (heated yoga classes) and Body Challenge (non-heated fitness classes). We have a variety of classes to meet all your fitness needs.

Meet the Team
Kat Raedy
Owner • Creative Director • Lead Instructor/Trainer
Kat is a certified ERYT 500-hour Yoga instructor who has traveled the world to do yoga. Her fitness journey began over 20 years ago as a dance student and teacher and evolved into different fitness classes until she found yoga. Yoga is her passion and with experience teaching in places like Costa Rica, Morocco, Mexico, and more and with over 1000 hours in education, her goal is to bring a quality traditional holistic yoga practice to each and every student. Classes are challenging with variations offered for poses to accommodate every level of student. She is a firm believer in yoga and movement for health and wellbeing and wants everyone to feel welcome regardless of fitness level, background, or body type – Strong, Confident, and Empowered at any size. She founded the studio with a goal for an inclusive community of yoga devotees with a desire to deepen their practice and enhance their lives on and off the mat in a supportive and connected place. Her dream is to share a yoga journey and create a space free from judgement to achieve personal growth on our collective and individual journey to self-awareness. When not at the studio, she spends time traveling, playing pickleball, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

April Morphis

April has been teaching in the fitness industry for 20 years. She values health and wellness and enjoys sharing it with others. She brings The Haven a variety of formats including the ones on our schedule but also others like BodyPump, Lagree, and Versa Climber. She enjoys challenging her body and mind by trying new workouts, which help keep her workouts current and motivating. Off the mat she spends time with her beautiful family and teaching as a profession. Constantly giving and sharing with our community. Charlotte Stuteville
Instructor
A 200 RYT certified yoga teacher, Charlotte is originally from Bakersfield and is married with three beautiful children. She loves spending time with her family and friends. During her free time, you can catch her hiking, paddle boarding, or camping. Fitness has always been a massive part of Charlotte’s life. She has 15 years of experience with group fitness and yoga. Charlotte was drawn to yoga after being deeply inspired by a close friend. She found a greater feeling of connection with mind, body, and soul. Charlotte always approaches her classes with a warm positive attitude and does her best to be very welcoming. The goal of her class is to inspire people as well as build a deep sense of trust, generosity and empowerment.

Ali Dougherty

Ali first got into yoga around 12 years ago. She has a strong background in ballet and jazz and loves all things yoga and fitness related! When she is not in the studio you can catch her giving all of her love to her French Bulldog, Miss Piggy. Ali’s classes will transport you allowing you to escape the chaos of life for one hour while you focus on yourself and just feel the practice deep within.

Montrelle Henry

Montrelle Henry, educator by day and fitness instructor by night (and morning). She has been teaching various forms of fitness for 5 years and teaching fitness is her passion. Montrelle has a mission to show people that curvy, strong people of all sizes and shapes can be fit and bad ass. There is often a stereotype that goes with fitness and her classes are the place where stereotypes go to die and the best version of you is born. Montrelle found yoga when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and her doctor recommended that she change her workout regimen to preserve her joints. Through continued practice, her body, mind, and spirit bloomed. Her appreciation of what her body could accomplish transformed. Montrelle strives to give that same freedom to everyone in her class. She wants people to know that no matter your size, shape, color, or gender, you are not only welcomed, but you are wanted here.

Danielle Lopez

Danielle has been teaching yoga since 2019. She grew up dancing and as an adult did not know where she fit in the fitness realm. After Danielle was introduced to yoga, she quickly knew it was where she was meant to be and jumped in to learn and grow as a yoga instructor. In her classes you will see how her dance background plays an integral part to fuse movement with breath. The mantra she keeps at the forefront of her mind on and off the mat is “I change my thoughts; I change my world.” Outside of the studio you can find Danielle running after her one-year-old or reading a good book.

Kaylinn Lephart

Kaylinnn is a 200hr RYT. She found a passion for yoga 7 years ago as she worked to navigate the busy life of a college student. After obtaining her Masters Degree with yoga along the way to keep her moving forward, she now works as a speech-lanuage pathologist for elemntary school kids. Yoga is a Kaylinn's way to escape the crazy everyday life and find a healthy mind body connection. her classess include a little play time, a little challenge, and even more love.

Monique Williams
Instructor
Monique Williams began to consistently practice yoga in 2015. She fell in love with the practice and went on to complete her 200 hour yoga training through YogaWorks in 2018. She loved learning more about yoga and went on to complete her 300 hour certification through YogaWorks in 2020. As a 500 RYT, she likes to teach an alignment based power vinyasa class that leaves your body feeling relaxed and strong. As an accounting manger who works at her computer, she likes to include poses and stretches that counter the effects of sitting for long periods of time. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband Trevor working out, riding bikes, swimming, golfing and walking or playing with their two dogs Karmi and Khaleesi.

Lisa Garrett

Lisa, a 200hr RYT instructor, is a mother of four busy boys. When off the mat, she loves traveling and exploring new destinations as well as taking in as many sunsets with her husband as she can. She has been an avid yoga practitioner for 11 years and has been teaching for the past five years. Her favorite styles to teach are power and restore. Lisa considers herself a lifetime student of the practice and believes there is always room to learn and grow.

As someone who has always focused on fitness, yoga completed the circle for Reyna! She mmediately felt a difference for the better not just in body, but in mind and spirit! She began to pursue the joy and found herself on the journey to becoming a yoga instructor. Helping others has been a huge change in her life, a welcome change that drives her closer to her goals and purpose! She is a busy mother of 3 and her desire to make the world a better place is her passion. Reyna believes if we all had yoga in our lives 1 day a week the world would be a better place.

Lynne Myers

Lynne began practicing yoga in 2012 & has enjoyed the benefits of it ever since. She completed her 200 hr certification in 2017. Her training was influenced by BKS Iyengar and her classes are alignment based. She is a school nurse working with pre-school age children. She also has a background in competitive swimming & enjoys running, hiking, skiing, gardening, reading, travel, & spending time with family, friends and her dog.

Justyne Neri

Justyne enjoys all things involving in moving her body or being outside. Justyne has been doing group fitness classes since she was 16 and involved in team sports since she could walk. Her love for fitness grew even more once she started yoga and her confidence grew when she took her first barre class. Barre brought back that young girl in her who isn’t shy to dance it out. Growing up being a cheerleader, and doing gymnastics, barre became her new fitness love as an adult. I mean who doesn’t like a fitness class designed to music. Barre allows Justyne to feel confident, strong, and empowering and she knew when becoming an instructor she wanted others to feel the same. Working with the community is a passion of Justyne’s. While not at the “Barre” Justyne also works for KCSOS for Community Connection for Child Care as a Program Facilitator. If Justyne isn’t working or at the studio, you can catch her at the golf course with her fiancé or escaping to the coast with her fur babies and family.

Michelle Dokolas

Michelle is an Advanced Pop Pilates and Body Balance instructor & has been teaching group fitness for the last 10 years. She believes that we are all stronger together than we are apart & there is something truly magical about sharing a space with others as we pursue the best version of ourselves. When not at the studio, you can find her reading a good book at the beach or spending time with friends or family. Michelle's goal is to bring joy & fun to the fitness experience in pursuit of community & health.

After living in Washington DC, Madi is excited to be back in Bakersfield sharing her passion for yoga with the community. Gweyn first started practicing yoga 12 years ago as a way to reach full time student status at CSUB. What started out as a means to secure an extra unit, led her to finding something much more important; herself. After years of practicing on and off and one particularly rough summer, Gweyn felt the need to reconnect to herself and realign to her purpose- acknowledging the last time she felt most at peace, the most driven, the most joyful was when she was routinely practicing yoga. Gweyn found Haven at a time she needed it the most and has not looked back. She enrolled in The Haven’s 2024 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program after countless back and fourths of reasons why she couldn’t and shouldn’t. Lucky for Gweyn, this was her “Yes, year.” Everything that set her heart and soul on fire was to be an automatic Yes. Gweyn’s goal as a teacher is to create a safe environment for her students, emphasizing the belief that everyone has the power to surprise themselves, and sometimes what matters most is not the posture but how your practice is reflected off the mat. Gweyn enjoys her free time practicing yoga (shocker!), weightlifting, spending time with her dog Finnegan, family and friends.

Katie is a Certified 200 hour Yoga teacher. Her yoga journey started as a way to connect to her body and bring peace and balance into her life after becoming a mom of two. She then fell in love with yogic teachings and decided to dive deeper into yoga philosophy. Putting together all aspects, Katie’s yoga classes will bring balance to your mind, body and spirit. When not on the mat, Katie is a life long student with a love for reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Caitlyn fell in love with yoga in 2011. With a background in dance and competitive swimming, she has always found movement as a way of expression and healing. She is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher and started teaching power vinyasa and yoga sculpt 2016 at CorePower Yoga in San Jose, CA. After becoming a mom, she found her passion in serving those on the path to motherhood and became an 85hr Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher in 2024.

Heidi Priest is a RN and a board-certified health and wellness nurse coach, passionate about holistic wellness and fitness. Believing that food and movement are essential forms of medicine, she advocates for a balanced fitness approach that includes metabolic conditioning, strength training, and mobility. With a focus on functional fitness and a passion for yoga, Heidi helps individuals achieve lasting wellness and vitality through personalized coaching, and group fitness classes guiding them towards a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Ana is a certified sound healer and passionate yoga practitioner. She brings a holistic approach to wellness, blending mindful movement, breathwork, and vibrational healing. Rooted in her culture and connection to the earth, a plant lover, gardener, and naturalist, Ana believes in the connection between nature and nurturing the self. When she’s not guiding others toward inner balance, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, collecting plants for her garden, and creating through pottery, fiber arts, and water color. Ana’s practice is centered on fostering inclusive spaces where students of all backgrounds can embrace body positivity and a sense of calm that extends beyond the mat.

When you think of downtown living and hospitality, one person comes to mind. Kevin Arambula has been a staple part of the revitalization of Downtown Bakersfield. Kevin started his Yoga journey in 2020 attending early morning classes at Evolvecore studio downtown. Subsequently achieving his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2021. Kevin classes focus on full relaxation and transformation. He takes pride in installing new music each week in his playlists.
